Join OPDBecoming an Omaha Police Officer
Applications will be accepted from Monday, January 5 through Thursday, January 29, 2009. You can apply online, in person, or by faxing or mailing in your application. You can register to be notified of the application period either online or by telephoning the City of Omaha Human Resources Department at (402) 444-5300. The Omaha Police Department extensively advertises when applications are being accepted. To obtain a DVD with information on joining the Omaha Police Department and the city of Omaha which contains the videos on this Web site, contact Police Human Resources at (402) 444-3507.

The City of Omaha Personnel Department will be taking applications for the position of Police Officer in January. 
As a kid I always wanted to be a policeman or professional baseball player. Thankfully I could never hit a curve ball, so instead I have the most exciting and rewarding career I could ever hope for. 
For me, being a police officer is all about the kids. As a police officer, I have the opportunity to be apositive influence for kids that could last a lifetime.
